“I think about the outcome of all the situations, whatever kind of record I make, you know, this outcome can possibly happen but I haven’t made the record yet so I can’t prematurely talk about it. Although I hope that my audience will want to grow with me, of course. Teenage Dreams is like two years old and everybody has gotten a little bit older since that record came out and maybe their lives have changed, maybe they need more details, maybe they need the songs that I’m going to put out at that time. And also, I don’t think I can always be the Candy Queen, you know? That would get very annoying and boring. And I like to evolve and try new things and maybe not every record will always be this successful. I’m not going to try and duplicate what I’ve just done because I don’t know If I could do it again nor do I want to look like a fool trying to top myself at every turn. I have to get creative for the next one, I understand that. And i hope that people will continue to be on the journey with me.”
